Privacy policy
In short: ChordPad Builder runs entirely in your browser. Your pads, sets and files never leave your device. There are no cookies, no tracking and no user accounts.
inc/config.php and have this policy reviewed before going live. As soon as ads, analytics or affiliate links are added, this policy must be extended.This is an English translation for convenience. The German version is legally binding.

2. Visiting the website (server log files)
When you visit the site, your browser transmits technically necessary data to our hosting provider’s server: IP address, date and time, requested file, amount of data transferred, referrer URL, browser type and operating system. This data is needed to deliver the site and to ensure its security (e.g. defending against attacks).
The legal basis is Art. 6 (1) (f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). The hosting provider deletes the log files after a short period unless they are needed to investigate a security incident.
Hosting provider: [Name und Anschrift des Hosting-Anbieters]. A data processing agreement according to Art. 28 GDPR is in place with the provider.
3. Storage in your browser (no cookies)
So that your work isn’t lost, the app stores data exclusively locally in your browser. None of it is transmitted to us or third parties:

This storage is strictly necessary for the app functions you explicitly request (§ 25 (2) no. 2 TDDDG). You can delete the data at any time via your browser’s site settings – use “My sets → Export all sets” beforehand to create a backup file.
4. MIDI and files
- MIDI: if you allow access, the app sends MIDI notes to the devices you select (e.g. an MPC connected via USB) and receives notes from your MIDI input. This happens directly between the browser and the device on your computer.
- Files: imported and exported
.progressionfiles and shared folders are only read and written locally in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.
5. No cookies, no tracking, no external services
The site sets no cookies, uses no analytics or tracking tools and loads no content from third-party servers (no external fonts, scripts or ad networks). The language is selected via the address (?lang=en) or your browser language – without cookies.
6. Contact by email
If you email us, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6 (1) (b) or (f) GDPR) and delete them once they are no longer required and no statutory retention obligations apply.
7. Your rights
You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 21). Please contact the address above.
You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority, in particular in the member state of your residence or of our registered office.
